For it's price point, it is a great product.
I am not an audiophile. I got this so that my wife could have her music fill a 600 sq ft room filled with about 20 people or so. We use this system to listen to music, not to watch movies so my experience cannot speak to that.
I am very pleased with this product for a few reasons.
1.) The price was right and it did exactly what I needed it to do.
2.) Since the rear speakers are somewhat "wireless," installation was simple and quick. The only thing I did not like about the installation is that the front, center, and subwoofer have proprietary plugs for plugging them into the main system so you cannot use your own wires. Since the wires the system comes with can't be more than 15ft long, this can really limit the places you can put the speakers.
3.) The sound can get very loud for our 600 sq ft room. If you turn the sound up all the way you can't hardly speak to someone 3-4 feet away without screaming. The sound does not distort or crack when turned up all the way.
4.) I have the rear wireless speakers about 30 feet from the system and they never lose signal. I do not have the main system surrounded by anything, but the wireless receiver is behind a thin wall. However, the rear speakers always work great.
5.) The iPod dock works great for my wifes iPod Touch 2nd gen. However, nothing supports the iPod except the actual plug on the bottom. It makes me worry if someone were to hit the iPod while it was plugged in that it would either damage the iPod or Panasonic System.
The biggest con for this product is that it was 0 inputs. It cannot play sound for anything except your iPod, CDs, and DVD's. Do not buy this to listen to your TV in surround sound; it cannot do it.
If you do not need front speaker stands or wireless rear speakers, then get the SC-PT660. It will save you about $90. However, if you want a surround sound system to listen to music, then I would highly recommend this product. That's what we use it for and we love it.
